Season 8 - Week 7

The Pele League

Result: 3/10

A poor week for the top flight but the three that came in were good picks. Top of those was Shakey spotting Bolton's rise from the ashes at 3.6. Nick Kelly's superb season continues as West Brom beat Norwich away and Tim Lines was one of the few who saw the excellent odds about Liverpool beating Fulham. The three at the bottom look in desperate trouble especially Gurd and Lewis still looking for their first wins of the season.

The Maradona League

Result: 5/10

Everything to play for in this league as the mid table teams make up ground on the leaders. There were some solid picks from Gibbons, Southworth and Britcliffe picking Newcastle, Bradford and Villa. Only Lloydy looks in a inescapable position as his poor form continues.

The Gary Lineker League

Result: 5/10

Nick Lines return to form continues after a couple of bad seasons and he is the only player in positive figures in a very poor league. Anyone could get promoted or relegated from this one but Jake Jones needs to find some winners if he is going to escape. Paul Kinsella had the stand out pick this week with Coventry's away demolition of Colchester, whilst Craig Lowe spotted the Liverpool win.

The Paul Dickov League

Result: 5/10

Jonathan Stapleton continues to dominate the Dickov as he spots the great odds about a Bury home win. Not a lot else to report here apart from promotion looks a possibility for anyone in sixth and above.

The Jason Lee League

Result: 4/10

This is more like it! The best league this season sees Tim Hughes early seemingly unassailable lead being slowly whittled away by the chasing pack of Chris Roberts and Simon Callan with Ben Drury not far behind. It's tight at the bottom as well with no one safe until you get to Jamie Jones in fifth. Good picks this week were the two 2.1's of Stoke beating Bristol City for Chris Roberts and West Broms win at Norwich for Jamie Jones.

The Ali Dia League

Result: 7/11

Nik Simms' legendary season continues as he passes the 15 pound profit landmark for the first time in Predictor history. Surely this can't continue. Is he really going to have the perfect season? You can't argue with his pick of Newcastle at home this week but will he stick with the safe strategy or go for glory in the coming weeks? Ayako spotted the value for Liverpool and is well in the hunt for promotion with more picks like this. Daniel Lewis needs to get it together to avoid the embarrassment of no wins in a season.

Good luck this week,
Tony
