Locke secures big win - Week 3

What do us mere mortals look for when choosing our pick for the week? Good home record ? Run of away wins? Loss of form for opponents?  League standings? Looks like we are all wrong.  You should look out for teams who haven’t ever won at the ground they are away at! Teams that are languishing in the bottom three! Teams that lack form of any kind! Teams like.......... Wigan. That’s just what Sean Locke did this week and he bagged a pick of 10.00. His upside down thinking powers him to the top of the overall league and  if he plays it carefully he may have already sewn up the league and overall title.

We may all have to try some upside down thinking for future weeks, how about starting with those ‘bankers’ next week.  Villa to thrash Chelsea and Blackburn to hammer Man Utd.

Other big pickers this week, both David Lloyd & Andy Ewart  picked the Everton  win(3.4) and Grant Elder & Al Smith stuck with rangers to win the old firm derby, all top picks in other weeks. Ian Menzies in Holdsworth picked the Burnley West Ham draw (3.2)

Special mention this week for the 100% gang who have 3 out of 3 so far they are Virdi, Howlett , Cornwell & Tester. Keep it up fellas.

In the Pele league the top two swapped places with Blackley coming unstuck and the consistent Virdi  winning with Southampton. James Delahunt moves into 3rd. It’s still fairly close with only Booth having not had a winner this season.

The top of the pile in the other leagues are:

Maradona – matt gibbons +2.60
Dalgleish -Sean Locke +8.00
Shearer – Tim Lines +1.17
Lineker – Andy Ewart +3.65
Gascoigne – David Rosser +3.80
Jason lee- James Holland +2.35

Keep the faith people. Choose wisely. Oh by the way who have Wigan got this coming weekend????

Cheers
Al.
