Season 17 - Week 9

Only two above evens winners this week as a difficult season reaches its climax. I know international weeks are hard but this was another sorry performance by the vast majority of players. Ian Booth gets the best pick with Montenegro’s home win over Switzerland netting him 1.62. The only other pick worth mentioning was by Steve Keeley, with Norway’s win in Cyprus earning him 1.30. Pete Cornwell goes into the final week 1.83 ahead of his nearest rival in the overall league after Holland managed an away win in Moldova.

Emma sht box is 1.32 ahead of Matt Britcliffe in the Pele league but with these players both on losing streaks there is a chance Craig the sheepdip can challenge for the title. The fight for relegation goes up to Simon Callan in fourth but John Fields, Craig the ram and Jimmy Smith look doomed at the bottom of the league.

Pete Cornwell is a staggering 7.5 points ahead in the Maradona League and will be joining the elite league next week. Everyone else is on negative scores but there are four players within reach of second spot and promotion.

Matthew Gibbons heads the Gary Lineker League by almost 2 points and a safe pick should see him a top flight player next week. Gary Moss is 0.8 ahead in second and again just needs a solid win. Martyn Cornwell and James Delahunt are bottom of this league with no wins and just one chance left to avoid the embarrassment of a win-less season.

A final mention for the Paul Gascoigne League. Everyone in the league is in negative figures, awesome effort there. You’ve got one week to make it right.
